Study: Transcriptome changes specifically associated with apple (Malus domestica) root defense response during Fusarium proliferatum MR5 infection
show Abstracthide Abstract
Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the specific transcriptomic changes in apple root tissue in response to infection by F. Proliferatum. The characterized transcriptome changes during apple root defense responses to F. Proliferatum inoculation should facilitate the identification of the key molecular components, which may differentiate the resistance and susceptibility among apple rootstock germplasm. Overall design: The inoculation of seedlings with F. Proliferatum was performed by dipping the root system into the inoculum forc 2h and then planting treated seedlings into aseptic soil. Control plants were mock inoculated with 0.5% PCB and then transplanted and maintained the same manner as pathogen infected plants.
